How to Use the CSSF Registration Form

To attend some or all of our CSSF Summer activities or to enroll in a regular course not-for-credit, please complete this form. It's a special kind of .pdf document that allows you to type in your information and save it (renamed with your name), then simply email that file or snail-mail the printout with your check. Here are the detailed instructions:

1. When you open the PDF registration form, note if the box at the top of the document indicates that you can or cannot save data typed into the form.

a. If the form says you cannot save data typed into the form, please type in your information, then print the document using the PRINT button at the bottom of the form. You may then write your information on the printed document then either scan the document and email it or mail the printed copy. If emailing a scanned copy, please submit it to Lydia Ash (lash@ku.edu). If mailing a printed copy, please send it with your check made out to University of Kansas to:

Make out all checks to the University of Kansas.

b. If the form says you can save data typed into the form, please continue to step two, below.

2. Fill in the lines for your name, email address, address, and telephone number.

3. Click the appropriate box(es) for the event(s) for which you are registering.

a. If you are registering for any of the three writing workshops or the Intensive Institute, you must first get approval from the instructor. Registering for the program only via this form, without submitting an application to the appropriate instructor, will not allow you into the workshop or course. Please see the appropriate pages for details on obtaining permission to take the Short Fiction Workshop, the Novel Workshop (or the Repeat Offenders Workshop), or the Intensive SF Institute.

b. If you are staying on campus and want to share a dorm room, you must make your own arrangements in advance of registering. If you register for a double room and do not include the name and email of your roommate, you will be assigned to and charged for a single dorm room for the entire length of your stay.

4. To save your completed registration form:

a. Click the SAVE button at the bottom of the form. A Save As: dialogue box will appear. At the top is the Save In: drop-down menu. The default for your computer is probably the Temp (OLK) folder. Change this to your desktop or a folder on your hard drive by clicking on the down arrow next to the OLK folder name that is the default and selecting an alternate location.

b. On the File Name: line, highlight the words CSSF Registrant PDF and replace them with your full name.

5. To send your saved registration form, use your email program of choice and send the newly saved registration form, titled with your name (i.e. Pat Smith.pdf), and email it as an attachment to Lydia Ash (lash@ku.edu).

6. Prices for all activities and dorm room costs may be found on the individual event pages. Dorm room pricing is figured by the base cost of the event, plus the cost of any additional days you wish to stay. There are no discounts for checking out early.
